Sermon: Between the Bookends

“Between the Bookends”

(March 4, 2012) Lent begins and ends with God’s saving actions on our behalf. Our spiritual journeys are similar, as there are things God does for us, initiating us into the life of faith and the life everlasting. Between the bookends, however, in the season of Lent and the journey of living, the story is ours to tell. What journey are we on? What stories do we tell? (Mark  1:9-15)

This sermon was heavily influenced by my friend and colleague Rev. Amber Malone, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Castleton, NY. Thanks for letting me sermon-share, Amber (and now you all know where the high church sacramental theology came from. Sheesh. Lutherans)!
