“Let Your Hair Down”
(June 13, 2010) The uninvited woman at the dinner worships Christ with her whole heart; shamelessly and shockingly pouring perfume on his feet and washing them with tears and drying them with her unbound hair. We lack the context to understand how shocking her actions are, but do we stifle ourselves in our worship and life together, not wanting to give of ourselves too completely and risk looking like fools or being truly authentic when it comes to our worship? What does it take for us to feel safe enough to worship authentically, shocking as it may be? (Luke 7:36-8:3)
