“Table Manners”
(July 4, 2010) Jesus offers first what might sound like very simple advice about how to avoid embarrassment in a social setting, but is a larger lesson about about pride and humility. He takes it further, however, telling his hosts to invite the poor and the broken to their banquets. How often do we invite the poor, the broken, the outcast, into our meals and buildings and communities? (Luke 14:1, 7-14)
