Sermon: Who Are We to Hinder?

Who Are We to Hinder?

(May 2, 2010) In a vision, Peter comes to realize that we are not meant to cling to the old ways of doing things, the old hierarchy, the old categories and obstacles. Rather, God tells Peter to not label as unclean those whom God has called or chosen, and Peter (most uncharacteristically!) understands this to be a new way of imagining the people of God. In Revelation, too, we see that God is creating something new, inviting us to put aside our former understandings, and tear down the old barriers. What will we find when the walls come down? (Acts 11:1-18, Revelation 21:1-6)

Sorry about the recording quality this week; I misplaced my mic wire and had to capture the recording using just the iPhone speakers and then amplify it.
