“Go Deep”
(Feb 7, 2010) When Jesus encounters Simon Peter and his fishing companions, he instructs them to cast out into deeper water to throw their nets. Going deeper suggests the need to take a risk, the need to go deep out into the mission field where the ‘fish’ actually are. Nothing is gained by remaining safely on the shore. But going deeper also invites us to look inside ourselves, to find and strengthen our own spirituality. From a place of our own spiritual depth, will we be ready to fling wide the nets and the invitation? (Luke 5:1-11, Isaiah 6:1-8)
